Driptones x Couch Cult x Natalie Carr x Echo Area at Aisle 5 (Atlanta, GA)

Driptones

We are four life-long musicians who have learned to use songwriting as a needed means of self-expression. We're firm believers in the power of creativity and musical collaboration. This band is our way to enjoy music together and share our message with the world in the most sincere way we can. We like to describe ourselves as genre-fluid because our music really runs the gamut and we tend to explore the emotional appeal of many different styles, but our sound typically falls in line with modern alternative rock and indie, drawing inspiration from bands like The Strokes, Vulfpeck, Steely Dan, Magic City Hippies, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Flipturn, etc... Our music is always authentic: we play whatever is fun for us and we write lyrics with genuine emotional impact, which, given the fact that we're all college students, often centers around things like navigating newfound independence and adulthood, childhood nostalgia, pursuing the right path and satisfying expectations/potential, mental health struggles and developing maladaptive behaviors as coping mechanisms for loneliness, and learning to love. If even one person feels the groove or resonates with any of our messages, then we've done our job -- we'll be here to play as long as you'll listen.

++

Couch Cult

Couch Cult is a four-piece band from Georgia (USA) that blends alternative rock, pop, and grunge influences into a unique sound. Formed at the end of 2022, the band consists of Matthew Tinker on Bass, Case Snedecor on Drums, Robin Schaffer on vocals, and our newest member Mike Gardella on guitar.

++

Natalie Carr

Natalie Carr is a singer/songwriter from Stamford, CT, who is currently based out of Charlotte, NC. Carr got her start, learning piano and guitar at a young age, and turned to penning her own lyrics as she grew up. Since 2019, Carr has been releasing singles in the Pop/R&B lane, and takes influence from crossovers artists such as Kehlani, SZA, and Halsey. She has been fortunate enough to be featured in Lyrical Lemonade, EarMilk, and This Is RnB, as well as national and international radio via her 2020 release of ‘Sad Little Rant.’ She was also featured on both Spotify and Tidal editorial playlists as of last year. Carr prides herself on writing music in all genres for herself and other artists.

++

Echo Area

Echo Area, a dynamic chillwave and indie electronic band hailing from Atlanta, Ga., is fueled by the collective talents of Jesse Chapman on production and vocals, Ryan Laukhuf on drums, and Matt Boone on guitar. Blending their individual expertise seamlessly, the trio weaves a captivating tapestry of dreamy melodies, intricate beats, and mesmerizing guitar textures. Their music, inspired by the city's vibrant cultural landscape, transcends genre boundaries, fusing elements of electronic pop, shoegaze, and ambient soundscapes. With their ethereal yet introspective lyrics and carefully crafted studio productions, Echo Area creates an immersive sonic experience that transports listeners to a world of tranquility and contemplation.

Lemon’s x Cosomic Hippie x Father Figure - Live from SOBATL (Atlanta, GA)

I thought lemons were a fruit.

Yes, lemons are a fruit. However, Lemon's (with an apostrophe 's) is a Memphis-based indie rock band composed of Susie Hydrick, Jackson Williams, and Ben Spiegelman.

While their sound is heavily characterized by catchy guitar riffs and thoughtful instrumentation, just as much, if not more, thought goes into the lyrical content of their music. They often draw inspiration from life experiences, such as family trauma, romantic and familial relationships, and their own introspective journeys. Their sound is reminiscent of groups who inspire them like Young the Giant, The Backseat Lovers, Arctic Monkeys, and other indie rock groups.

The Outfield Clovers x Velvet Edge x Audiophile x Collective Karma - Live from SOBATL (Atlanta, GA)

The Outfield Clovers are a Rock Band from Atlanta with Indie and Midwest Emo influences. The band consists of Ryan McMeans on vocals and bass guitar, James Coyne on drums, and Jonathan Langston on guitar and vocals. The band formed after meeting at the loser table in the school lunchroom. To this day they are unaware that it was the loser table. After hours of practice in the bonus room of Ryan's parents' house, they have taken their music to their friends' basements, where they play for cold pizza and half smoked cigarettes.

Tayls

The East Nashville Power Pop band Tayls transports listeners into a temporary dwelling of rock ‘n’ roll fantasy. Their dynamic pop-punk anthems and effervescent energy has captured hearts across Nashville, creating a multisensory experience while providing a feeling of belonging. The Nashville Scene describes the group as “stylistically omnivorous, pulling from a variety of disciplines from folk to glam, with a flair for grand gestures that nods to The Flaming Lips.” Beyond that, Tayls is a band about friendship. The group takes a kitchen-sink approach to live performance, with an ensemble cast of Nashville talent, and stage theatrics akin to Bowie or Queen. The band’s self-proclaimed genre, Friendship-Punk, combines a DIY ethos with a do-it-together spirit.

Forrest Isn't Dead “The Flowers Tour” with support from Slow Funeral x Tayls (Greenville, SC)

Slow Funeral

Slow Funeral is the alias of South Carolina-based musician Mary Norris. She released her first single as Slow Funeral, “I Loved You In Another Life,” in November 2021. Shortly after, Norris put all of her energy into defining herself and her sound through abraded lyrical and musical vulnerability. Her alt-rock band is a marriage of her 90s influences, such as Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, The Cranberries, and Nirvana, paired with her Americana roots, such as Jason Isbell, Bruce Springsteen, and John Prine. Performing as a 4-piece, Slow Funeral’s live performances have been making early impact in the Southeast, having already shared the stage with acts like Slothrust, owen (Mike Kinsella of American Football), Chase Petra, Molly Martin, and more.

Slow Funeral also completed their first southeast tour in fall/winter of 2023. Norris is currently working with producer Corey Campbell on her debut album, Conditions of Trust, after being awarded community/project grants through Chapman Cultural Center, The Metropolitan Arts Council, and The South Carolina Arts Commission (release date TBD). The album covers Norris’s experiences growing up and living in poverty in the south, along with topics of abuse, patriarchy, heartbreak, and healing. The first single from the record, “Bugs,” was released on December 8th, 2023, followed by “Purple Roses,” released on April 5th, 2024.

Aaron Rizzo x Maggie Miles x Desmond Myers at Aisle 5 (Atlanta, GA)

Aaron Rizzo

Much of Rizzo’s influence comes not from guitar players, but drummers. As a rhythmically based player, he has drawn inspiration from the likes of Steve Jordan, Nate Smith, Carter Mclean and many others. This has afforded him a distinct perspective on his primary instrument – guitar. It also acts as a bridge between his guitar playing and the rhythm section, making groove the focal point of many of his performances. Historically, Aaron Rizzo has covered a fair amount of ground in his recorded music. Especially as a producer, an obsession with exploring new sounds has always been a cornerstone of his albums.

Maggie Miles

Nashville-based alternative pop artist-Maggie Miles is flipping the subgenre on its head by fearlessly revealing grappling life experiences set to electric production. Maggie’s lyrics reflect the most personal corners of her mind. This vulnerability drives her anticipated sophomore album, The Lack Thereof.
